Begin (2024)

2023 ended weirdly abruptly for me, but I got the shot in the arm I needed in order to hit the ground running in 2024. This year's going to be absolutely crazy, but for me personally, I feel my worst years are finally behind me. I'm ready to stop drowning in a sea of...

The New Cycle

by | Aug 14, 2021 | Blog, Site

The name ‘Phoenix’ has a lot of meaning behind it. For me it’s more than a legendary avian basking in flames and enjoying a kind of cyclical immortality. It encapsulates who I am. Call it an extremely liberal interpretation; I won’t deny that, but since the Phoenix itself lives, dies and lives again in cycles, that’s how I view pivotal moments in my own life. Something old dies and something new springs to life out of the embers. That’s what this post is for. I’m making some changes on the site and blog that should bring everything more in line with where I am currently.

First off, I’ve archived all posts prior to this one. When I look at the dates of most of them I get a little discouraged. It makes me wonder how I’m going to be able to keep up the goals I’m working toward when even minor upkeep on the blog has been so difficult. I don’t need those kinds of distractions right now, even if the dates bother me. I’m of the mind of blindly pressing forward, now. I flat out refuse to delete the old posts, though. I didn’t do all that writing just to throw it away over some annoying timestamps and feeling bad about it. They’ll still be searchable once I find a good setup for that that I like. For now, I need a clean slate on the frontend of the site to move forward from, so that’s the first thing that’s changing.

The second thing that’s changing is related to the first. I’m going back to daily posting. Maybe even multiple posts per day. I don’t care what it takes, I’ll make it work because I can. That’s pretty much all I have to say about that.

Third. I’m changing the way I organize my information and I’m prioritizing my written works for the time being. It’s difficult to explain but it’ll make more sense in a few weeks.

Okay, that’s it for now. This is the new cycle.
