2023 ended weirdly abruptly for me, but I got the shot in the arm I needed in order to hit the ground running in 2024. This year's going to be absolutely crazy, but for me personally, I feel my worst years are finally behind me. I'm ready to stop drowning in a sea of...

Quick Update
This is a general update and not project specific. To start, I've been pretty sick the last couple of weeks. That nuked almost every end-of-the-year plan and goal I had for 2023, including the Yamato project. Even as I write this, I'm only just 'recovering.' There's...
Cosmo Falcon Spotted (Yamato WIP)
Okay so the Cosmo Messers aren't 100% compatible with the Yamato, so I wanted to modify one to be close to spec. I somehow wound up making a full-blown Cosmo Falcon. There I go, makin' replicas again I also did some side by side comparisons on an old request and Good...
Yamato Progress
Oh my goodness ... well, things may have slowed down exponentially compared to the first 24 hours of working on this thing, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been major progress. Check this out. The exterior is nearly finished (minus coloring) The catapults work...
Space Engineers: Space Battleship Yamato
Uh ... yeah, I'm not sure why I started making this yesterday. I'll do 'inspired' builds, but I never attempt actual replicas. For some perspective, this is sixteen hours of work crammed into about a day and a half. It took me a year to get the Admiral Hipper slapped...
Expanding Kaiser Lore
One of the most annoying things about fleshing out these World War II inspired factions is that there isn't enough territory in the setting to go around. I mean we've got America, the UK, Germany, France, Japan, etcetera. There are only a handful of habitable worlds,...
A Guided Tour?
I’m always brainstorming ways to keep the blog relatively lively between ZAP related posts, but a lot of the ideas seem like more trouble than they’re worth. At the same time, I think I should play to my strengths whenever and however I can. Having said that, I’m thinking sometime tomorrow I’m going to try something a little different. It’s going to require some screenshots, but I think a guided tour of some of my spaceship builds in Space Engineers could be as helpful to me for improving them as the LGT sessions have been in helping me stay on focused while editing my work.
I’m at least thinking of giving it one or two tries to see how the format and presentation comes out.
EDIT: (9/8/21
Let’s put a pin in this one for now. I’m missing one of the lighting+skybox mods I use when I’m not working on important builds. I’ve got no idea where it went and I’ve already spent too long trying to track it down. (Would help if the name was intuitive so I could narrow things down with a search) As for why the lighting and skybox matter, they can go a long way when presenting ships in the game. When settings are all normal space is too milky, textures are too similar, and nothing really stands out unless it’s some weird color. So I’m going to take the extra time to polish the ship up some more, then when I find the lighting mod I’ll grab those screencaps and handle the guided tour.
