Begin (2024)

2023 ended weirdly abruptly for me, but I got the shot in the arm I needed in order to hit the ground running in 2024. This year's going to be absolutely crazy, but for me personally, I feel my worst years are finally behind me. I'm ready to stop drowning in a sea of...

I’m Looking at You, 2022

by | Dec 2, 2021 | Journal, Site, ZAP

It’s been a quiet day so the blog’s likewise going to be pretty quiet.

Site and Writing

I’m planning a few moves over the next couple of months so most of today was spent on soft research. The hard stuff doesn’t come until later. A few more days this month are going to be like this since I want to hit the ground running in 2022, that or at least not trip. I’ve got more ideas for the site as far as its look and how everything is arranged, but I’m not a programmer (yet) and changes need to happen incrementally. I need to make sure what I’ve got works well for as many people visiting as possible before adding more. That’s also partly what the research is for.

Becoming a Resource

While the ZAP project is my main focus and the purpose of the Praedian Records, I’d still like the site to serve as a resource for others to come and use for their own needs. The trouble has always been what type of resource I want to be. It’s one thing to write to tutorials for things I’ve recently mastered and just post those, but that would wind up being too broad and shallow to promote what I’m doing.

I’m still trying to find a good niche, something that fits me well enough that I can write about it constantly. I’ve got plenty of ideas, always have, but honing in on the best ones is extremely difficult. I’m getting close to just experimenting and seeing what drives the most interest. That’s what 2022 is ultimately about. The site’s quiet right now and visitors are few, but that was for a purpose and starting in 2022 we won’t be operating in stealth mode ever again.

That’s all for now.
