Begin (2024)

2023 ended weirdly abruptly for me, but I got the shot in the arm I needed in order to hit the ground running in 2024. This year's going to be absolutely crazy, but for me personally, I feel my worst years are finally behind me. I'm ready to stop drowning in a sea of...

Expanding Kaiser Lore

One of the most annoying things about fleshing out these World War II inspired factions is that there isn't enough territory in the setting to go around. I mean we've got America, the UK, Germany, France, Japan, etcetera. There are only a handful of habitable worlds,...

Thumbnails Finished

The thumbnails for the Admiral Hipper, Cosmo Messer F2, and the KM-3s missile are finished. A bit rushed but they all look decent enough, especially the F2. Have a look. I also squished the frames a little to give the subjects more screen space. Once again, I think...

Cosmo Messer F2 Progress

It's pretty much finished. Unfortunately there are still some workshop related things I need to do and I don't quite have enough time for all of that tonight. Hopefully I'll have it sorted by tomorrow or sometime in the middle of the week, but if not, next weekend at...

Setting Things in Order (Lydia’s Golden Treasury)

by | Dec 4, 2021 | Journal, LGT, Writing

Lydia’s Golden Treasury has four chapters left. Save for the last chapter, the chronology between them isn’t quite resolved. It’s actually always been this way. The only reason the Armor of the Unburdened is the first chapter is because the concept of that chapter was the most fleshed out when I started. All I had to do was couch the incident in Enya’s first day on the job/orientation.

The Atoning Mirror and the Emancipating Blade were in the same boat. They could have swapped places and only a few details would have to change. Frankly, I might have even been happier with Emancipating Blade being the fourth or fifth chapter.

I’m bringing all that up to say that ordering the chapters becomes more and more difficult as things become more fleshed out. Once a chapter goes up, the events and the little details sprinkled throughout carry over. I don’t try to write my characters back to where they started to be ready for the next ‘episode.’ LGT is episodic, but the developments in it are extremely important to the setting as a whole. It’s not something I can write casually.

Anyway, here’s a bit of sneak peak of what’s coming up.

The Chronicles of Proxima

The Class Array

The Golden Ticket

Eisenwolf

These are the titles of the four remaining chapters and the likely order they’ll show up in. Save for Eisenwolf, nothing’s set in stone, but I’ve been leaning strongly toward this. We’ll at least know what’s up later in the month when I decide whether or not to do Chronicles or Class Array and actually start writing.

That and Fleeing Victory are basically what’s on my mind today, so I thought I’d share that.
