I had a minor close call today while brainstorming. Like I mentioned before, Fleeing Victory is a series of ‘pantser’ shorts with only a vague outline and a relatively large cast of characters. Since there’s so little that’s set in stone, sometimes I hit up on ideas that are really interesting or fun, but threaten to derail the main thrust of the story. I’ve even entertained thoughts of doing a bait and switch with certain characters to start up an A, B, and C plot. There are definitely better ways to go about it than running with the first thing that comes to mind. Fleeing Victory is in an early enough phase that it can pivot almost anywhere at a moment’s notice, but for now, I’ll keep things on the original track.
Fleeing Victory #2 isn’t finished yet but I plan to have it up by Sunday. That’ll be 2/6 for my quota for anyone keeping track. I’ve also started back on Lydia’s Golden Treasury, but there’s no progress there worth mentioning.
